Use and care
Follow the steps below to use it correctly:
- Beech wood plates should be washed by hand in lukewarm running water with a little dishwashing liquid.
Use a soft sponge or cloth. Avoid using scouring pads and brushes.
- Beech wood plates should not be soaked in water. Wash them after use, rinse them, and wipe them dry.
- Do not put beech wood plates in the dishwasher or sterilizer. High temperatures and humidity can cause beech wood to warp and crack.
- Do not use beech wood plates in the oven or refrigerator. Extreme temperatures are not good for the wood.
- The surface of all Borbolya plates is covered with a food- and environmentally-friendly oil layer. This layer protects the plate from stains and water infiltration. If you want to do something about the long-term deterioration of your plates, it is recommended that you regularly (every 4 weeks) refresh their protective oil layer by applying coconut oil or beeswax to the surface of the plates.
Apply a little oil to the completely dry plates with a soft cloth and leave the plates to soak up the oil for 1-2 hours. Finally, wipe off the excess.
- Over time, food stains can appear on plates. For difficult-to-remove food stains, use a mixture of vinegar and baking soda. Apply the solution with a soft cloth and rub gently in a circular motion until the stain disappears.
If beech plates are in contact with water for a long period of time, mold can appear on their surface.
You can use vinegar or baking soda method to control mold.
